Whya foundation ?

The monastery of Saint-Maurice was created in 515 in order to honor the memory of Saint Maurice d’Agaune and his fellow martyrs.

Over time, this monastery has transformed into what has become the current Abbey, with a remarkable cultural heritage, where spirituality occupies an important place and which also has a mission of teaching and humanitarian and social aid.

In order for the Abbey to be able to shine on all these levels, it must be provided with the means to do so: this is the goal of the Abbey Foundation, created in 2019, which must materially help the Abbey to fulfill its mission. Indeed, the Abbey itself has only very limited resources and is currently experiencing difficult times.
